What it does
The Cloud Gateway Max routes, firewalls and runs the controller. The Pro Max switch gives sixteen PoE ports with 2.5 Gigabit uplinks, which is what a house with a rack actually needs once AV, cameras and access points are all on the same network. Four U7 Pro access points cover the main areas with more radio capacity and better handling of a lot of devices at once than the Lite.
Why specify it
- 2.5 Gigabit uplinks end to end, so a fast broadband line is not throttled at the switch
- Sixteen PoE ports, enough for access points, cameras, touchscreens and AV endpoints without a second switch
- U7 Pro access points, higher capacity and better under load than the Lite
- VLANs for AV, CCTV, guest and work, kept properly apart
- Rack mountable, so the comms cabinet stays tidy and serviceable
- Dual WAN is native, so a Starlink or 4G failover is a configuration change rather than new hardware
What is included
- 1x UniFi Cloud Gateway Max
- 1x UniFi Switch Pro Max 16 PoE
- 4x UniFi U7 Pro WiFi 7 access point
What this assumes
Cat6 already in the walls, running back to a single comms location, and a rack or cabinet to mount into. Four access points is the baseline, one per main area, and it is a starting point rather than a formula. Larger, longer or heavily divided plans need a walk-through before ordering.
What is not included
Installation, termination and configuration are quoted separately, along with the patch pack: patch panel, keystones and leads, sized to the number of ports in your comms location. Structured cabling is first fix and is not part of this pack. If the house has no data cabling, talk to us before ordering, because the cable has to be in before the walls close.
Add-ons
Extra indoor access point, outdoor access point, in-wall access point, a larger switch, and patch leads. For a standard family home without the AV and camera load, the UniFi Gigabit pack is the more sensible spend.
Lead time
Lead time is confirmed at order. Talk to us before ordering.
