Encoder and Decoder Functionality
The DM-NVX-351 supports both encoder and decoder functionality, allowing it to transmit or receive HDMI signals over the network. It features two auto-switching HDMI inputs and one HDMI output with a 4K60 4:4:4 scaler, providing flexibility in various setups. This device can be dynamically reconfigured between encoder and decoder modes in less than a minute via a control system or web browser.
Real-Time 4K60 Video Distribution
Engineered for demanding environments, the DM-NVX-351 delivers real-time, full-motion 4K60 video performance. It ensures fluid and natural interaction for applications such as multimedia presentations, videoconferencing, and live camera feeds. The system's line-synchronized outputs provide perfect synchronization across multiple displays, ideal for digital signage and video walls.
Video Wall Processing
The DM-NVX-351 can support video walls composed of up to 64 individual displays. Each endpoint in the video wall provides adjustable zoom capability and bezel compensation, accommodating a variety of configurations and display types. This allows for flexible, high-quality video wall installations.
Dynamic Text Overlay and Image Features
The device offers dynamic text overlay, enabling the display of information such as video source labels, special instructions, schedules, announcements, and alerts. It also supports image preview, which provides still images (thumbnails) of the current video feed, and the ability to upload a background image for on-screen display when no active video is being shown.
Enterprise-Grade Security
The DM-NVX-351 includes enterprise-grade security features such as 802.1X authentication, Active Directory® credential management, AES-128 content encryption, TLS, SSH, and HTTPS. These features ensure that the device meets the stringent security requirements of modern IT environments.
Flexible Audio Options
The DM-NVX-351 supports 7.1 surround sound audio and can downmix to stereo. It also offers AES67 audio embedding and de-embedding, allowing the device to transmit and receive 2-channel AES67 audio streams. The analog audio port can be configured as either an input or output, providing further flexibility in audio management.
Analog Audio Embedding or De-embedding
This device includes a balanced stereo analog audio port, which can be configured as either an input or output. The port can combine a stereo audio source with the video signal from either HDMI input or the incoming network video stream. As an output, it can feed a stereo line-level signal to a local sound system, with adjustable output volume.
USB 2.0 and KVM Integration
The DM-NVX-351 supports the extension of USB signals, allowing for the use of peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and cameras across the network. It also supports KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) integration, making it a suitable choice for interactive applications. USB 2.0 data transport can be configured for either Layer 2 or Layer 3, providing versatility in different network environments.
Connectivity and Network Features
The device features both copper and fiber Ethernet connectivity, with two RJ-45 LAN ports and one SFP port for fiber-optic network connections. It supports network port selection, allowing different types of network traffic to be managed and segregated. The DM-NVX-351 can also be powered via PoE++, UPOE, or the included power pack, providing flexibility in installation.
Automatic Point-to-Point Connectivity
Point-to-point connectivity enables the DM-NVX-351 encoder to connect directly to a decoder, streaming video, audio, and USB signals without the need for a network switch. This mode is automatically detected and requires no additional configuration.
Device Control and Web-Based Setup
The DM-NVX-351 includes built-in RS-232 and IR ports for controlling connected devices. It also supports CEC control over HDMI, allowing for seamless integration with other devices. Setup and management are handled through a web browser, with full control and monitoring available via a control system or Crestron’s DM NVX Director virtual switching appliances.
