A measured design for the technology in your home, drawn before the first cable is pulled.

Most technology problems in a new build or a refurbishment are settled long before anyone chooses a product. They are settled at first fix, when the sockets, the conduit and the cable runs are either in the right place or they are not. This service puts a drawing in your builder's hands with every device position marked and every cable listed, sized for your layout and for how the house will actually be used. Formwave designs for homes across Dublin and Ireland.

What you get

  • Floor plans marking the position of every device: keypads, speakers, screens, access points, cameras, entry panels and the equipment rack.
  • A full cable schedule listing every run, its type, and where it starts and finishes.
  • Containment and back box notes, so conduit sizes and box depths are set correctly at first fix rather than corrected later.
  • Equipment rack position, with the power and ventilation it needs.

The service does not include a full schematic diagram. If your project needs one, tell us before you order and we will price it separately.

How it works

  1. Send your floor plans, ideally as DWG or PDF, with a short note on what you want the house to do.
  2. We talk it through room by room and agree the scope.
  3. We mark up the drawings and produce the cable schedule.
  4. You get the pack and pass it to your builder or electrician. It is written to be read on site, not filed.

The drawings are yours

You are free to have the work carried out by your own electrician or integrator. Most clients ask Formwave to install what we design, but the design stands on its own and is priced that way.
